About the Author
Robert Prondzinski earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, and a Master of Business Administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Lake Forest, Illinois. He worked in the information technology field for more than twenty years, starting as a programmer and working his way up through all levels of the computer field. Bob retired as a corporate vice president from Nestlé Clinical Nutrition Corporation in 2001. As corporate vice president of information technology, he oversaw the computer operations in both the U.S. and Europe.
Now retired, Bob is a model train enthusiast, remote controlled sailboat hobbyist, and has traded traveling by airplane with a custom Winnebago RV to vacation throughout the U.S.
UPDATE: Bob passed away on September 20, 2009, at his home in Chicago, Illinois, four days prior to his 63rd birthday. Diagnosed in July 2009 with Stage 4 stomach cancer, Bob considered himself fortunate to be able to plan his final (earthly) adventure in detail. One of those details is his self-authored eulogy, which left friends and family members laughing, crying, and inspired by his final words. We’ve been asked to post it here for others to read. A PDF of the eulogy is available by clicking here. One of Bob’s goals in writing his memoir was to get his upbeat message of hope and happiness into the hands of as many people as possible who live with—or are the friend or family member of someone with—severe injury or disability. To help carry out Bob’s wishes, the publisher will be using proceeds from book sales to send complimentary copies of the book to appropriate individuals, organizations, research facilities, schools and rehabilitation institutions to be placed in their libraries. We want the book to be available to staff members, medical personnel, patients, and families who can benefit from Bob’s recounting of his experiences and extraordinary success in both his professional and personal life. If you know of an organization, school or specialty library that could benefit from Bob’s story, we welcome your suggestions.
